I have been using little snitch for some time now on a 867 powerbook and dual 1 GHz desktop and have had no problems at all. For me it is valuable insurance against Trojans and zombies. I know that there is not a huge problem with these types of things on Macs but they are around.

Up until v1.1rc5, I had no problems either; now under both Jaguar and Panther, things are not well...
Little snitch is the missing part of the puzzle. Of course you can use netstat in a terminal to see what is going on too.
