What would cause little snitch to runaway? It went nuts today and forced me to reboot my laptop. I'm running 10.3.8 (7U16) on a 1Ghz powerbook g4.

Here's what happened: My machine became really sluggish and it sounded like it was occasionally swapping (I have 768MB, so swapping is rare). The system logged contained the following:

Mar 14 10:09:05 Roaming-Wolf kernel: at_obdev_KUC: at_obdev_KUC_UserClient::setDebugEnabled(0)
Mar 14 10:09:05 Roaming-Wolf kernel: at_obdev_KUC: at_obdev_KUC_UserClient::debug log disabled
Mar 14 10:09:07 Roaming-Wolf kernel: at_obdev_KUC: reregister SYS_sendmsg call ALREADY REGISTERED/nat_obdev_KUC: reregister SYS_sendto call ALREADY REGISTERED/nat_obdev_KUC: reregister SYS_connect call ALREADY REGISTERED/n
... repeated every 10 seconds ...
Mar 14 13:42:19 Roaming-Wolf kernel: at_obdev_KUC: reregister SYS_sendmsg call ALREADY REGISTERED/nat_obdev_KUC: reregister SYS_sendto call ALREADY REGISTERED/nat_obdev_KUC: reregister SYS_connect call ALREADY REGISTERED/n

I noticed that the LittleSnitchDaemon process, running under another user, was consuming 150MB+(!) of resident memory, and it was growing. So I made the big mistake of FUSing over to that other user. The screen went black and I've never heard the hard drive grind so much. Eventually the user switch succeeded, and I immediately noticed the "something tried to disable me" panel tiled diagonally all the way down the screen.

The GUI was completely unresponsive. The fans were roaring and the drive was grinding, so I was forced to do a hard power down. Today's workflow was no different than any other day.

The only other clue is this in the system.log:
Mar 14 13:37:27 Roaming-Wolf /Library/PreferencePanes/Little Snitch.prefPane/Contents/Resources/LittleSnitchDaemon.app/Contents/ MacOS/LittleSnitchDaemon: CGSResolveShmemReference : offset exceeds bounds
... repeated for a total of 15 times in the same second ....

Anyone ever had a similar problem?

Daryn
