its my impression that you want to stay with 1.7x stable
I like the idea of building a disk that could be turned around and used
in a real situation with out a lot of fussing about minutia .. stable
versions, please!
On the other hand, the recent GEOS/PostGIS release, with Pg 8.4, is
great to work with
its good timing that these were finished off recently. thanks to all
involved there
