ok, UbuntuGIS has added it to their repo for Karmic, and Alex has adjusted
the install script in trunk to match. PostGIS 1.4 is already in Lucid, so
in future this will get even easier.
still todo:
- testing! probably some old postgis 1.3 commands still lurk.
- update medford sample dataset and load_postgis.sh
