Thierry,
Do you wish GeoKettle to be included on the OSGeo Live DVD again this
year?
Will you have a more recent version to include? If so, we will need
to have your install_script updated before our feature freeze in a
bit over a week on 5 July.
Also, we will be asking all projects to update their documentation to
provide a Quick Start, and improved Overview page. More details to come.
Hi Cameron,
Yes, we wish to have GeoKettle included on the OSGeo Live DVD this
year again. The Live DVD will indeed be used during the tutorial on
GeoKettle we will give during the FOSS4G 2010 conference in Barcelona.
We are about to release a new version of GeoKettle which will include
a lot of new and exciting stuff:
- Read/Write support for all vector data sources supported by
GDAL/OGR (which requires that GDAL/OGR is installed on the Live DVD)
- Cartographic preview
- Read/write support for GML 3.1.1
- Read/write support for KML 2.2
- More geoprocessing tools
- An extended online documentation with a lot of tips and tricks,
e.g. How to extract geospatial data from an OGC Web Feature Service
with GeoKettle? How to extract geospatial data from OSM with
GeoKettle? How to extract geospatial data from Twitter with GeoKettle?
...
Once the release will be ready (this week), I will work on the install
script and the documentation for the Live DVD. I hope to have it done
for July 5, 2010.
Cheers,
Th.
