If the application can be executed (as opposed to a library which needs to be incorporated into software), then there is a place to write a project overview for the application.

I understand that gdal/ogr can be run from the command line?

I think that the Natural Earth dataset will be used by lots of projects and should get its own overview.

If someone can write a Project overview for gdal/ogr and/or Natural Earth within the next 36 hours, (COB Tuesday if you are in the USA), then I can talk about it in the 20 minute lightening talk due to be finished in 48 hours.

The overview should be updated as per:

I specifically asked about gdal/ogr earlier

We talked about making overview pages for some of the other software (geos, proj, geotools, gdal, ogr) but we stopped for lack of time.

Hi Jody,
GDAL/OGR and proj are also installed but not mentioned as projects. As far as
I know, maptiler is included in recent GDAL versions.

As I write things up I noticed we did not mention the natural earth
dataset; it is kind of worth its own overview RST page.
