Have added this explanation to said page below:

Rasdaman is using ports 7001 (dispatcher), 7002, 7003, etc. (worker processes). The number of workers is fixed in the etc/rasmgr.conf file, at least one is required.

I found and 'registered' a new port number with the following steps.:

Choose a random port between 8000 and 8080, search through the whole 
documentation for this port number and only use this number if it isn't 
mentioned anywhere else. Then add your new port number to your quick guide so
