I'd also like to see the OSGeo Live be able to run on UEFI machines, but there was some issue recently with some Samsung computer getting bricked [1] when booting a new Ubuntu Live UEFI enabled version. That wouldn't reflect well on OSGeo (even tho' it's certainly nobody's fault). Maybe it would be better to "err on the side of caution" .
