This is how the GeoMoose project views announcing the next FOSS4G conference. As an OSGeo project we find it beneficial to both our project and OSGeo to raise awareness of the conference and of the other OSGeo projects.
OSGeo Live showcases quite a few of these projects and shows how both at a community/project level and software level we work together to build a greater ecosystem. Personally, it makes sense to me for OSGeo Live as a project to support raising awareness of the primary international conference devoted to the projects and community that OSGeo Live showcases.
