1/ Are you able to play your RTSP stream directly using VLC?
2/ When you run "openRTSP" to create a ".avi"-format file, do you let it run until completion (i.e., do *not* kill "openRTSP" using <control>-c)?
If the answers to 1/ and 2/ are both Yes, then I'm sorry - I don't know what the problem is. However, the AVI file output code is not totally complete; you could try to output a ".mov"-format file instead (using the "-q" option instead of "-i).
