I'm trying to investigate streaming performance when an 8-bit RTP sequence number is used.
RTP's sequence numbers are 16-bit, not 8-bit. If you want to play around with a protocol that uses 8-bit sequence numbers, then you can't call it RTP (and you'll get no support from me).
