I never tried to investigate any further as to WHY...had brifly looked into newer cards that might have better MPEG4 offload support...but, didn't get too far. Would love to hear if a graphics card would, in fact, help... VLC player still has the problem however with the packets coming out every 2ms. Bar somebody altering the code in VLC, the only thing I can see which is different is that openRTSP is version V2011.10.05 and VLC is version V2011.05.25.
