Please take a look if you would consider the attached patch.
It allows live555 to log to the logcat window (instead of std out/std err) 
when compiled for android (i.e. ANDROID is defined).

The other option would be to write an AndroidUsageEnvironment class,
but since there are in any case changes (#ifdefs) for ANDROID in the latest 
live555 
codebase, this approach might be better as client code does not have to be
changed and automatically has logging to the logcat window.

We found this to be especially helpful when debugging the android version of 
VLC.
