Hi Tayeb,
Thanks for your input, I'll definitely try bridging.
My kernel is 2.6, and adding brctl to the file system is not big deal.
The wireless card on my device supports 802.11n, but so far I've only
tried 802.11g, and both ends were able to synchronize at 54MBit/s.
I think it should be sufficient, the video bandwidth is around 2Mbit/s.
Felix.

hello
what is your embedded distro ?
please try to create a bridge and atach your wlan interface to it
so the ip address will be in the bridge
if you have a 2.6 kernel, IGMP snooping will automaticaly be inabled
in your bridge
this may 90% solv your multicast over wireless issue
i am streaming 20channels over wireless but encoded in H.264/AAC
using MumuDVB without any issue at all
802.11N is recomanded but 99.99% will not work in ad-hoc mode
thank you

Subject: [Live-devel] Streaming in wireless ad-hoc network
Hi,
I'm having a real trouble getting live555 based streamer work in
wireless
ad-hoc network. The same streamer works fine in wired and managed
wireless networks.
My setup consists of embedded device and Linux based laptop.
The live555 application runs on embedded device and streams
live H.264 video over multicast. Video resolution is 640x480, frame
rate is 30 FPS. VLC on laptop connects to streamer but fails to
display any video. I get the following errors:
main debug: `rtsp://11.0.0.30:8554/testStream' successfully opened
live555 debug: tk->rtpSource->hasBeenSynchronizedUsingRTCP()
main debug: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called

main debug: Decoder buffering done in 1 ms
main error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (pts_delay
increased to 1200 ms)
Streaming from file using testH264VideoStreamer works fine.
Any idea what can be wrong with my application would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks.
Felix.
