Stocks Jump in Opening Minutes; Dow Rises More Than 300 Points
The Dow Jones industrial average rose more than 300 points in
the early minutes of trading on Tuesday following rallies in
markets in Asia and Europe overnight. Investors were buoyed
by the announcement by the Bush administration of new
measures to combat the credit crisis, including an injection
of $250 billion into troubled American banks.
