The strong 6.5-magnitude earthquake has hit southern Chiapas state. The US Geological Survey says the quake struck about 20 kilometers from the city of Suchiate, on the Guatemalan border. Officials say the quake hit Thursday at 1:41 p.m. and was felt in Guatemala City, 200 kilometers away.
