Los Angeles Times | September 2, 2009 | 6:47 a.m. The Station fire grew to more than 140,000 acres overnight, but officials said they continued to make solid progress and now believe Mt. Wilson is out of immediate danger.
Temperatures continued to cool and humidity continued to rise, aiding firefighters on a massive blaze that killed two firefighters and destroyed 62 structures. This morning, the biggest concern is the eastern flank of the fire, which is moving in the mountains north of Altadena, Pasadena and Sierra Madre.
