Sam,

I used baby powder. The trail of water led EXACTLY to the leak.

And,
the shop vac made cleanup easy.

surrounding the area of concern.  The toilet paper absorbs the water  
and  gets discolored or even tears apart (if there is enough flow)  
indicating where the leak is coming from.  You may have to do this a  
few times to work your way back to the origin.  Has worked for me.
