Jim,
Why does somebody need to scale the mast to put
up your main?

I have that problem because the roller furling on
my jib has bearings up there which became jammed
the second time I used it, but my main works fine.
I have no motor and live in a windy marina with
the open end of the slip facing right into the
prevailing winds (well a little South of the wind
actually) so getting out under sail is
impossible...

I used to at least have an inflatable dinghy with
a 3 HP outboard I would put around in, but the
motor's water pump died, then the dinghy started
leaking air, etc.

Considering I love boating so much I only get to
do it when I go on other peoples boats...

I guess I shouldn't gripe too much. Living on my
"paid for" boat is the only way my measly 1300
bucks a month income allows me to even have a roof
over my head, so to speak...
