John,
We Americans have only fought one war among ourselves.
If memory serves, you Euros have fought multiple wars among yourselves, that
tend to drag us in from time to time.
In fact didn't you, ("...Europeans appear to be much better suited to
diplomacy and compromise..."), fight one that lasted 114 years???

Dear Tom
Thanks for replying, Yes, you do have your facts right but you use them
wrongly Tom. It is true that a war was fought from 1337 to 1453, but think
about it it is a bit of a silly argument and I think you know that! . This
was before America was discovered, so I guess that would make it US ALL who
fought that specific war. :-) . Anyway, still if we count official wars,
made and signed by treaties maybe you are right I don't really know. This
however has nothing to do with my post at all.
I merely tried to explain that in MY OPINION, modern day Europeans are
better suited than most Americans, at solving conflict when it appears in
society among friends and neighbors or in society at large.
It appears this offended you.
It is beyond discussion that violence is a bigger problem in large American
cities, than in European ones. They practically fight a war every day, in
Miami at least. If you have lived in both places you would agree, but if you
have only lived in Atlantic Beach, it would be hard to understand.
Being a European in America, from time to time I hear the line "well we were
the ones who came over and saved your sorry asses in the 2nd world war".
>From what I understand you entered the world war after Pearl Harbour , and
joined the Allied forces against the Axis Powers of Japanese and Germans,
but again ......it has nothing to do with the subject matter which is ....Is
the average American disadvantaged at problem solving, in regards to
conflict, in so much so that he /she quicker resorts to, or sees violence
as a solution in a given situation i.e. possible threat on the open seas.

Having thought it over again, I stand by my post. Americans are IMO more
aggressive and less suited to solve conflict than Europeans. On the other
hand they are better at soooo many other things. Innovative, steady,
generous etc. With every asset there is a disadvantage and vise versa. So,
instead of getting offended , relax my friend, you cant be the best at
everything right! America is a great country, Americans are wonderful sweet
people, they really are, a little hot under the collar a bit of a temper and
fast on the draw but still..very nice folks.
Regards John
