So... I notice that marine/RV lights tend to be type 1142, with twin conductors in the base of the bulb, whereas auto lights tend to be type 1156, with one conductor in the base and the socket connected to ground.
Is there some reason why RVs and boats are different? is there any reason not to use 1156 sockets for interior boat lighting? If they are used, should care be taken to isolate the light fixture from hull ground? I ask this in some chagrin having made a stupid error on a web form and accidentally ordered a number of 1156 type LED bulbs, when I meant 1142 (dammit). Too many weeks have elapsed for the mail order vendor to do a return/swap for me, so I'm stuck with these 1156 type bulbs and wondering if I can use them. Annoyed :-( de _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
