I guess I was trying to suggest that if the choice was either to turn it upside 
down or not have one at all, I would turn it upside down.
 
I just looked at mine again. I could buy a wind up turntable, put a deep dish 
under the food to avoid spills and the rubber feet would keep it far enough 
from the counter to enable exhaust. On mine, it actually looks like you would 
be able to turn the control panel upside down
