Why not install a wind vane auto pilot instead? Then if you want you could connect the tiller pilot to instead of a wind paddle, and steer the boat by magnetic compass via the tiller pilot with almost no wear tear or strain on the tiller pilot. Or you could just use the wind vane by itself. Mine does such an excellent job of steering I cannot believe I ever wondered if they were worth the money! -Ken
