Prior the? the last 20yrs or so, most industrial equipment like back hoes, air 
compressors, welders, generators, etc. had Perkins engines. Most equipment now 
has Jap. engines. Any construction equip. service should have parts or?know 
where to send you for a rebuild.?

I agree.  Remember these engines were not built solely for the marine 
market.  I suspect the ratio of industrial use to marine use is pretty 
high for most Perkins engines.  Any starter shop worth its salt will be 
able to rebuild it.
