Hi,

We brought Angel Louise from South of Morehead City where we
were at Spooner's Creek 2 days ago. We are at Oriental, NC on the
NW banks of the Neuse River. Last evening Tornado Warnings, and
two squalls came through, We were at anchor in their small bay
behind part of the sea wall, but the wind was direct on us for the
first part of the storms. Angel Louise's DELTA Quick Set anchor
failed to set the first time yesterday, but we pulled it up and set it
again. Although it would have been enough, I took our Bruce out
in the dinghy and set a second anchor well before forms were
forecast for us, as we had a lot of wind and two boats close behind
us. During the storms both anchors were prime at different times.
Afterwards, around midnight when all the lightning stopped, it
was a calm and nice night afterwards.

At 6:00 am this morning though, upon waking up, I checked the
Oriental town Web Cam. They have two slips at the Town Dock.
One of the boats that had been there for the two day limit left
at first light. We scrambled, pulled up both anchors and motored
over and got it. No electricity or water, but we have that already.
So, today 5/21/08 and maybe tomorrow, you can see Angel Louise at
the left side of the town dock! We are the big floating barge of a
catamaran on the left side of the dock on the camera.

Sailing in here, we had gusts up to 36 knots. We motored
slow and used the headsail only partly out and did speeds
up to 7.4 knots on the ICW coming up here.

We will head further north tomorrow or the next day with
a plan to spend some more time in Elizabeth City, NC
when we get up to the Great Dismal Swamp. We will send
some more photos of Oriental later.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.
