This is not always true. In the case of the modified hybrids (soon to be commercially available) extra battery capacity allows the electric motor to provide all the power to the wheels for the first 30-40 miles, after that the internal combustion engine is also needed. However, for commuting or short trips, where the car is driven then plugged in and recharged and the engine never starts, the car gets the equalivent of about 250 mpg if I remember correctly. -Ken _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
