I've had good luck using Sea Foam motor treatment on my 2 cycle motor. It spent one night submerged in sea water and after flushing it with fresh water it refused to operate. I finally got it to idle somewhat but it was after adding the Sea Foam to the fuel that it really smoothed out. It's never run so well. Also used it on my gas generator after it began to run rough, it fixed it right up also. I always carry a can on board. Might be worth a try, alot cheaper than a overhaul.
