I think I would attach my four webs to the chain with rolling hitches.

I had the same problem with the shackle clevis pins.  After screwing in 
securely I cut the loop off the head and peened the threaded end.  

As for the peening, I lost my main 110# plow in calm condition in Moorhead one 
day.  Didn't even know it until we hauled up the chain to leave!  We were very 
lucky.  A diver found it for $100.

When I have to remove the anchor I just cut the old shackle off with a thin 
wheel on an angle grinder. 

I would be a little afraid of ss under water mixed with galv.

I've just installed SS swivels at the anchor and between the chain and web 
rode. the Clevis and pins would get hung up on the anchor roller. Had not 
thought about the problem of them being weaker. Although I don't use the web 
rode for storms, I need to have strong clevis' s available in case of a storm 
drill. Thanks for bringing that up Norm
