Wow Yanni,
What a record of fixes underway.
We are impressed with your skills.
Why can't this stuff ever show up prior to getting under way.
Good luck.

Hello everyone,
I finally left fifty point Wednesday morning.
Excellent day for motoring to Oswego. Of course the last leg of the trip
during the night
I heard banging in the engine room which soon went away. Well, I went
up th
locks all
day yesterday and guess what. I was not alone. Murphy dropped by to say
high.
I passed the lock 23 in the morning at the west end of lake Oneida
but the
weather
was a little to windy for beating 20-25 east winds on a shallow lake
with
the mast down
so I decided to hold back till the afternoon. I thought check on the
bilge
and the noise.
I had a little extra water in the bilge so Murphy said check the
wiring. so
I did and both
were corroded and disconnected. Well as he suggested I installed
complete
wire set to
the bilge pump and the switch, it worked good.
Now check on the noise, the coupling set screws to the prop shaft were
loose.
As he suggested again I tightened the screws and new safety wire. and no
more loose shaft.
I ma on my way. Half way in the lake here banging again set the Simrad
tiller-pilot,
check the engine room and guess what. The engine was dancing the "I
am gonna
get you"
war dance. Two of the engine mount nuts were loose. Tools on hand,
lookout,
down bellow, done!
no more noise. (wait I am not done yet).
Couple of miles further noise again and water dripping.
Bilge Pump is working fine so I kept going; I notice every once in a
while
some
discoloration and the funny colours of oil were the bilge discharge
line is.
Also there is a smell of diesel really strong.
I have 4 more miles to my destination, the east end of the lake to
lock 22;
they close at five.
I was here just before so I said to my self I better check this out.
So I
leave the engine running
and take the Companion way stairs off.
WOOOOW. The hose from the low pressure side of the diesel pump is
squirting
diesel like crazy.
water is running in the bilge. Flashlight on and voila. The bellows
from the
dripless seal torn apart
water is just flowing in like a stream. Flashlight stuck somewhere,
bilge
pump on, tools, hoseclamps,
silicone rigging tape (insulating tape) 15 min later No more drops no
more
noise (engine shut) make coffee
and relax try to calm my self down and think about the future tomorrow.
So tomorrow, I got some information where to haul out, I will haul
out and
see for he rest.
Did you say something about Murphy? He is one of my best relatives.
Don't
you ever say anything bad about him.
