Sun offers a supported version called StarOffice which is just a packaged
version of OpenOffice with some extra goodies (fonts, images, etc...) thrown
in. They do provide a lot of code, etc...to the OpenOffice project which is,
as Philip said, free to download and install. The new 3.0 version is shaping
up to be very good.

One nice thing about OpenOffice is it can print straight to PDFs without
having to buy a full version of Acrobat or even have Reader installed. This is
a good thing :)

It supports importing and exporting to most Office formats. If you're looking
for basic to medium level office software give it a try. It's very similar to
MS Word / Excel / Powerpoint. If you're a hardcore Excel user then you may not
find everything you're looking for.
