Ken and All,

I wish to inform the List about a great LED lamp I found in Lowe's for $30.
It is called a LED Desk Lamp and found by the other desk lamps. There is a
weighted base, a long solid tube stalk with about three inches of flex at
the top and all painted black. It fits perfectly (as in designed for)
behind my laptop and peeking over the top illuminating the screen and keys
with no glare. There may be three dozen individual LEDs in the unit so
there is no glare associated with a pin-point unit. It works on a
120vac/12VDC wall wart and works perfectly off my 12 VDC ship's supply on
board..

I find it astonishing to note the rapid advancement of LED technology.
Just a year ago I would never had imagined a LED car headlight!

I have one of the first blue LED's. I managed to get a sample unit from
the Cree company and had fun impressing my friends for a few months until
they became more common.
