I would never ever drain condensate (or a shower for that matter) into the
bilge. Yuck! The Mermaid reverse cycle air/heat is installed for central
air/heating. It has its own place behind the scenes and drains outside via
its own thru-hull.

Of course any properly installed air conditioning dries the air (lowers the
humidity). We were talking about the moist heat that the Mermaid produces
when I turn on its heat option, which isn't often. Thank goodness!

Not sure why it is moist, but I assure you it isn't from my bone dry bilge.
LOL

Errr, when alcohol burns, it produces H20. Not good for dehumidifying. Hot
hair contains more moisture. There is probably no difference between the
reverse cycle process in a Mermaid and that of a Cruisair. My Cruisair dries
the air to much. Perhaps it?s the way a system disposes of its condensate?
If it goes into the bilge, it probably increases the humidity.
