He is dead on correct, yes there are exceptions. There really are ( and a lot of them I add) but the truth is the truth. We have completed a little over 9,000 miles on the Great Circle( Loop to some ) 2/3 of the way thru and are of the opinion that , so far, New York is the most boater friendly state. What I mean by that is not necessarily the people but the attitude toward boaters. In Fla. boaters, to the populace( well a lot of them) are pests. We are tolerated for as much $$$$ as can be squeezed fr us. NY, as a whole, welcomes boaters. This is not to slight our friends in the other states but as a whole NY wins. We met lots of people in all the states on the East and Gulf coasts and most were very cordial. Our biggest surprise was that NY state is a rural state once out of the city. Remember this is a personal opinion. We all have them based on our experiences. We are talking about the general ATTITUDE toward boaters not necessarily the individuals. We had good inexperiences with individuals all along the way, in all states traversed, Canada as well. By the way this includes Quebec where many complain about treatment there.
