Baltimore is one of the most racist cities I have ever lived in. It is both
tolerated, and encouraged by many.

Violence in the schools against teachers is the norm. Judge just let a
student go for beating her art teacher even though
it was clear from the video that the kid is assaulting the woman.. I was a
school nurse for a year.. I can tell horror stories..

The Electric bills are out of sight.. my small boat with an 10 x 12 living
space cost me $160 to heat in December.
January was much much colder, the worst in the past ten years..

Nursing Jobs are not that easy to come by.. dunno who you are talking
to...am a nurse.. unless you are an RN and work in a hospital exclusvely
maybe..
Baltimore has the 3rd highest murder rate in the US.. and if Jan is any
indication we just might get our #2 slot back from Memphis.

It does not get warm until May...the sailing season is months long... as in
just 4 or 5.. not year round.. poor wind a lot of the time..
I have had to warn numerous freinds heading south that 'small craft' warning
does not mean there is wind to sail.. it means SMALL CRAFT WARNING..

I make the same money as a nurse here that I did there...in fla that is..
nursing agencies here pay what the facilities are paying..
not more than they pay like home..home i would have made $16/hr in a
facility the agency paid me $22.. I came up here and get the $22 facility or
agency..

It was almost impossible to find a marina that allowed the slips to be paid
for by the month not by the year.. IF you move before your year is up, then
you lose the remainder.. many marinas won't let you live aboard under 35 or
40 feet.. I am 33 feet.. .. it is normal up here to turn off water (and
Elec) to the docks from Nov 1 (or sooner) to April 1. I know of one place
that turns off both water, elec, and locks the bathrooms 6 mos a year..yet
wants (two yrs ago) $68000 for april 1 to nov 1 slip rent in advance, plus
an extra 100/month if you live board you pay for elec.

I could go on.. I do not reccomend Baltiimore.. perhaps Annapolis.. crime
rate and attitude are much nicer..

FYI.. I have been up here 4 yrs.. so its not just a snap comment..

It's not about the boat it's sails or rigging. It's about the freedom.

the best chance of peace and prosperity for all, and our desire for peace
