'bella,

Personally I would keep the $300 to spend on the fiberglass or the new diesel
engine.

I would drain the tank and burn the gas in my car, a few gallons at a time.

I would open the tank and stick two vacuum hoses in the access hatch with wet
rags stuffed around them. One hose to outside, the other to the discharge end
of a vacuum cleaner to ventilate the tank until all fumes are gone.

Then I would clean the tank with a can of carb cleaner and a roll of paper
towels.

I would rig a small fan to a vacuum cleaner hose to leave in the tank to
ventilate it while doing the fiberglass job.

Considering that stuff is invovled that has to be disposed of and that stuff
is not environmentally safe and that company deals with all that..
$300 is cheap in my book... I had expected that much to clean the tank out
before I open it up to reglass..

even if I were to luck out and find a suitable diesal for $1,000 that my current
budget can afford... I would still have to have some kind of cleaning done..
So cleaning is worth the price... I mean where the heck would either of us
disposed of the bad stuff and what would it cost? I think having a pro in the
field do it at that cost is a bargian..
who is it?

I have a company that will come in and clean the tank for me with their fancy

the tank has sat, with whatever is in it.. old gas... since at least 2004.
So there I am looking at around $300 to have that done..

Cleaning the tank is not that difficult. I have a detailed article on my web
site on how I did it.
