In the post you are quoting (at the bottom) I wasn't saying anything at all about the weather. I WAS saying that a boat with a 6'6" draft would not have an easy time on the west coast of Florida. You even recommended it to Norm and his boat draws 8'. Someone with that deep a draft would also have a hard time in the Bahamas, although I think the shoal draft and catamaran people tend to exaggerate the amount of trouble that a deep draft boat would have. I've traveled with people with boats of that draft and they did have to take a little more care, but it was definitely do-able. >you can get a 6 foot draw boat on the west side of fleming key to anchor.. His boat is 6 and a half feet draw, but I don't regard Fleming Key as really being the west coast of FL. We have anchored on the west side of Fleming Key but it isn't protected from the northwest (if I have my directions right). That was one place that Bob suggested. They also have moorings there, but our boat is too big for them. >On Tue, Apr 14, 2009 at 5:41 PM, Rosalie <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Yes I think that would be the case too. >> >> -----Original Message----- >> >From: [email protected] >> >Sent: Apr 14, 2009 5:09 PM >> >To: [email protected] >> >Subject: Re: [Liveaboard] Advice regarding Florida >> > >> >6.5' draft would make SW Fla tough I think? _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
