Ben,

Lately we've been going right through Morehead City without stopping.
Beaufort has too little water for us to anchor. We have tried several
times and it was a big hassle.

We tried going under the RR bridge, taking a left down that canal and
anchoring in the basin between the island and the marina. The first time
the marina operator sent one of his fuel dock customers out to us to relay
a complaint that we were too close to his fuel dock and he was expecting a
big crowd (it was Friday night). We moved as far away as we could get
toward the island (we were aground at low tide). But the next year the
marina operator apparently call the Coast Guard to harass us as they showed
up at 0830 in attack mode. We also tried going a bit farther west around
the corner from the marina but ended up being stranded by the tide.

So now we just continue on through the marshes and up Adams Cut. Sometimes
we anchor off Oriental, sometime continue to Goose Creek. This year we are
going to try to time it so we arrive in Goose Creek an hour before sunset.
