I had a similar problem with my Columbia 26. I found a new Bomar hatch 
on Ebay. I wedged a temporary piece in the hatch opening and built up a 
new hatch ring from fiberglass and epoxy. I then removed the temp mold 
surface and cut the opening for the new hatch. I did an article on it 
for DIY Boat Owner magazine last year, I think they may have it on line...
