Well since my post a few weeks ago, it appears everyone woke up!

Eric, echoing Rufus, we're glad to see you succumb to practicalities in so
gracious a manner. I suspect a lot of us would have to be dragged, kicking
and screaming, into a totally land bound existence. You will be missed and I
suspect we'd all love to hear your thoughts/comments, etc. for a long, long
time.

Meanwhile, judging from the various recent posts, it appears that we're all
caught up in our various lives between boat chores, winterizing for those
who have to, etc., and like me, have been just checking in without posting.

For myself, I finally brought the boat around two weeks ago to her winter
home, a marina around the corner from Oyster Bay where she'll spend the
winter tied up dockside. I've been here before and for the periodic times
the bay actually ices up (extremely rare) they've got an excellent bubbling
system in place.

The plan is to go to "strip" the boat this weekend but that could change.
The latest WX forecast for the NY area looks to be in the low 60's with 8-10
kts on Saturday so we may blow off the 'work' and go sailing instead.

But otherwise, it looks like that depressing time of the year is coming up
on us so we'll just have to start thinking about re-commissioning in the
spring and sailing next summer!
