Just to keep apprised anyone who's keeping score (or amuse anyone who is
following along with the struggles of a cruiser headed south), the
projects have been spawning and re-spawning, like the monsters in
"Quake" on the "Nightmare" challenge level - but I'm slowly winning
anyway. (Yes, I used to win in Quake, too. :)

This, in between other minor tasks like buying everything that's
necessary for all of the above at a dozen different stores, doing
laundry, getting propane, exchanging a cell phone that died, and so on.
Oh yes - preparing for a business trip and handling other business
correspondence goes without saying...

Incidentally, Jim's recommended solution (stack of index cards plus a
binder clip) is an absolutely wonderful thing - once you organize it
into a system, that is. In researching it, I found out that there's a
whole subculture of people using the so-called "Hipster PDA", with
templates, ideas, structures (fans of GTD, or "Getting Things Done",
love them), and use suggestions. I've been using it, and it has *really*
helped me off-load a tremendous amount of the overwhelming mental noise
that I thought was necessary to get things accomplished.

Never could get along with daytimers, etc., but this works really,
really well - and costs nearly nothing. Amazing, the things you learn
here.
