Unfortunately, given the fixed plug design, there's essentially nothing
you can do to make it any better. I mean, theoretically it's possible to
design something that would A) firmly clamp the plug to the socket
without any wiggle room and B) cam each individual lug so that it would
jam the lugs immovably in their slots with enough pressure for excellent
contact. Unfortunately, that plug alone would cost a couple of hundred
bucks - and would probably wreck the typical wonky, burned, cracked
sockets that you find at the marinas.
It was a great idea when Edison came up with it, but it was never
designed to carry the kind of loads we're using now.
