Sue and I wanted to wish everyone living aboard and those
contemplating moving aboard in the next year a MERRY CHRISTMAS from
London.

Since our sailing our live aboard home, USSV ANGEL LOUISE from
Brunswick, GA to London this past summer, we have enjoyed St Katharine
Docks immensely. We highly recommend it. There are less than 150
boats here in 3 separate basins, all tied to the Thames River by a
lock that opens for high tide. The tide runs 30 feet her in London.
Our marina is home for about 10 US and North American boats this
winter. Staying aboard here has been great so far, as we have not had
any temperatures go into freezing yet. Today, Christmas day it got up
to 54 degrees - very mild indeed. The maritime climate keeps this
place habitable despite it being 1,000 miles closer to the North Pole
than New York City. The marina has three sets of bathrooms with nice
shower facilities for 'stay aboard' guests.

We highly recommend the St Katharine Docks to any folks who may be
coming this way in the future. We had read online of another cruiser
several years ago on the Boat WHOOSH (you can find their great reports
via GOOGLE).

Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy 2012!

Ed & Sue
