The folks living on land have similar problems. The zoning laws in many places are so restrictive they inhibit freedom.
If you own a motor home in most places you are restricted where you may park it on your own property. Many places say it is illegal to be in your own driveway in front of your home that you pay taxes on. Its the Golden Rule: He who has the gold makes the rules. Additionally you cannot just park and live by the roadside or on public streets. Zoning restricts where you can put your trailer as well. All analogous to us live aboard cruisers. Reminds me of a great Ole and Lena Joke up in Minnesota regulating parking on snow emergency days: On Monday a snow storm announcement came and Ole moved the car to the even numbered side of the street in front of his house as the radio directed. On Thursday another storm came and Ole moved the car to the odd numbered side of the street in front of his house as the radio directed. Finally on Saturday Lena told Ole the radio said a storm was coming again, but Ole replied that he was tired of moving the car and was just going to leave it in the garage this time! Fair winds to everyone. Ed and Sue in Netsel Marina in Marmaris (where you are prohibited by law from having either grey water or black water discharges! We are also told the Mediterranean is a total no discharge zone.)
