I just bought one from Bircher's here in Beaufort NC, but I can't
recommend them despite the excellent quality of work that I saw:
according to the owner, with whom I had a nice long chat, shafts in
those diameters are more of a sideline with them (their main business
being large shafts for racing boats and ships.)
If it wasn't for the highly competitive price I was given - Bircher's
happened to have the shaft diameter I needed on the shelf, and it just
needed to be cut to length - I'd have gone with General Props out of
Florida. Their prices were decent ($475 for a 1.25" x 63" Aquamet 19
shaft, including a new coupler), and at least two people here have
personally dealt with them and recommended them.
