However, there are some questions.
1. Is it necessary to keep Bitstream Vera? DejaVu is a derivative work that contains all glyphs originally present in Bitstream Vera in their original form, plus many others. Fontconfig can be configured to look for DejaVu when applications ask for Bitstream Vera.
Based on the information you just shared, I'd say Bitstream isn't necessary, no.
2. Which of the fonts, FreeMono or DejaVu Sans Mono, should be the default monospace font?
I've tried both now, and I think I favor DejaVu. Unless there's some reason to choose FreeMono over DejaVu, let's use DejaVu.
3. Currently only FreeFont covers Greek among installed fonts, but Xorg seems to reject it as an ISO-8859-7 capable font in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF/fonts.scale. Any ideas or suggestions? Any other wanted fonts?
I'll have to let someone else answer this question, I'm not much good in the i18n department. Perhaps we'd get more of a response to this question if we forwarded it to lfs-dev and/or lfs-chat?
4. Is there any way to legally include Microsoft fonts on the CD?
Don't know, but we can look into that...
Thanks Alexander,
