Isn't there a less brutish method of doing this in case the user just
happens to want to connect on port 6000? I just use an alias. While not
elegant at all, it allows me to run /usr/X11R6/bin/startx if I want to
listen on tcp or just plain startx if not.
There is unionfs. If a user doesn't want this restriction, he removes
/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc or (better) uses X11 forwarding over ssh. BTW
Debian uses exactly this xserverrc-based method of not opening tcp/6000.
