I understand and will try to do. I try to explain in the commit message

With the current 6.1.1-2 LiveCD, the line sed'ing the included
login.defs from shadow should be login.defs.linux. This caused the TZ
problems in 6.1.1-1 since the .linux version has this commented out.
The only found problem so far is that when using vim, the backspace key
prints ^? instead of backspacing. One can just use the arrow keys and
delete for now. It is still possible to build a working LFS from this,
as myself and my test team have done it many times.
So I un-deleted the 6.1.1-newmake branch ( of course not even a couple
hours after removing, there are bugs found! ;) ) and applied the
changes. Since the backspace bug is annoying but not show-stopping, I
will wait a little bit hoping for other bugs to show up.
