Well, that explains much. The vesa framebuffer driver doesn't set the MTRR
correctly, and that makes the entire X slow. Kernel bug, WONTFIX.
This is interesting because I don't experience the slowness in twm with
this setting. I'll verify this, but the slowness also occured when I
didn't set the framebuffer.
