Unfortunately, there is an issue with Pango on the CD. While it is
certainly not a showstopper for the CD (because it doesn't support
printing), I would like to resolve it first, as a hint for the BLFS
book. Details:
SeaMonkey has the --enable-pango configure switch that enables the use
of Pango for text layout and printing. Without this (or, alternatively
and harder to set up, Xprint), it is impossible to print non-ISO-8859-1
documents on real PostScript printers from Mozilla. So, I attempted to
add this option and see the improvement. However, Seamonkey fails to
start with the following error:
/usr/lib/seamonkey-1.0/seamonkey-bin: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/seamonkey-1.0/components/libgfx_gtk.so: undefined symbol:
pango_xft_get_font_map
This has been resolved (and test pages printed nicely to PostScript
files, thus making my usual "Don't print from Mozilla" advice invalid)
by adding LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libpangoxft-1.0, but it's a hack, not a
solution. More details will be posted after Pango recompilation.
Another LiveCD-specific issue is:
(seamonkey-bin:21488): Gtk-WARNING **: Could not find the icon
'drive-harddisk'. The 'hicolor' theme
was not found either, perhaps you need to install it.

I am going to follow the steps indicated in the message :)
