#1642: LiveCD hangs at bootup with the error: "Drive confused" ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Owner: [email protected] Type: defect | Status: new Priority: high | Milestone: Component: CD | Version: Severity: critical | Keywords: ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- After a few hours trying to boot the LiveCD 6.1.1.3 I figured out a "bug". My system always hanged itself at: Searching for CD lfsliveblabla. Before that it came with the error: Drive confused, irq 18. I tried several bootoptions like: ide=nodma, irqpoll, noapic, acpi=off, apm=off hdc=ide-scsi, etc. All with no result at all, or even more system hangups.
The solution was easy after all... In my bios I had to switch the controller to PATA only and NOT PATA+SATA or whatever other options. I hope this can be mentioned in a FAQ or something so other people don“t have to try this for hours ;) Good luck with developing!
